Album Notes:
Reliant Three Wheeler Motor Vehicles, hold a unique place in the affections of the British Public, in part due to a Reliant Regal Supervan being a 'star' in the Comedy Series Fools and Horses.
But also because under British Law a Three Wheeler Car, or Van providing it weighed less than 7 Cwt could be driven on a Motorcycle Licence!
This anomaly meant that the Reliant series of three wheel vehicles had a long and in the main successful production life covering 66 Years.
In 1971 I had a full Motorcycle Licence, but had not passed the Motor Car Driving Test, so I bought a well used, but clean looking 1965 Reliant Regal.
It was NOT the best buy I have ever made, but on balance I did have a lot of fun for the relatively short time I owned it. Although the Drive Home from the Dealers in Brixton London to Crawley,
was one of the most frightening of my life, due to the Engine either being at full throttle or stalled, with nothing in between!
I have often regretted that I had no existent pictures of my first car, but thanks to Trevor Harrison,
EFK 731C now has a place in my Albums
As soon as I had passed the Car Driving Test, a Ford Escort entered my life, but that is another story!
